As the femme fatale of the Bebop crew, Faye Valentine naturally held my attention. While she is untrustworthy, egotistical, and manipulative, she shows a great deal of character development throughout the series and even comes to have real care and affection toward her crew mates. While I at first didn’t care for her, I did always love her character design and after watching Cowboy Bebop a few times, her character eventually grew on me as well.
I patterned her yellow crop top and shorts from scratch and made them with stretch vinyl. The “buttons” on the shorts and top are made from mirror backed acrylic that I dusted with a transparent blue paint to get the color. I accidentally made her shorts too small at first, and had to add 4 inches worn of fabric to the sides to even be able to wear them! Luckily enough you can’t tell just by looking at the photos. The red shirt was purchased with just a few modifications to make it stay up in the back.
