I find One Piece to be such an inspiring anime, and Monkey D. Luffy’s dedication to his friends, freedom, and his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates is something I think everyone can look up to.

Construction Notes:

The only thing constructed by me for this costume was the red pirate shirt, which I made with some scrap fabric that I dyed red.  The buttons are technically functional, but the shirt is too small on me to close.  This was a stylistic choice on to ensure a fitted look while maintaining the open chest.  The rest was purchased with minor alterations to the shorts and shoes.
